CMS has begun to roll out the MDS/Staffing Focused Survey and California is 1 of the 5 pilot States! This survey is being conducted by CMS contracted evaluators. Are you ready during the first hour of their visit?
This survey requires a modified resident census and conditions that is similar to the matrix log that they usually ask to be provided to them within an hour. They will not accept the 802 Resident Census and Condition form. The Focused Survey Facility Worksheet is posted in the will be posted here this week.
They are asking to see the 18 months worth of the posted daily nurse staffing data and many more. This makes me just want to escape a bit and enjoy some ice cream.
